RE--Richard Wise Music-my 42 years of radio at WPKN is nestled in the classic "Fake Books" of the 50s and 60s,simultaneously submerged in the soul of R&B of the day culminating with a Europe/Middle East/Africa tour as a Navy drummer.it is through these lenses that i write my thoughts...his compositions embrace the new and the old with celestial tones, rhythmic rap(which would stand toe to toe with the latest Hip-Hop expressions),African and Latino percussion, laced with "Hendrix" flavored with "War",injected with"Santana",then interpreted in both English and Spanish.if you don't believe me;;just listen to"What Does the Ceremony Mean?"
"Waiting Alone" can support any meditation session."Si Te Encuentro"has an old school/Calle 13 smack to it."Que' Bonita!" is a sensual interpretation of the female essence spiked with a little Gypsy relish.
these are just a few side of Richard Wise music.take the time to explore the other edges!,,,,

Re-Travellers of Forever Play-------

....draws you in,mix of early electric Miles Davis, third stream jazz, world jazz percussion...lots of low-key Zappaesque touches, all in small doses that flow so well that it passes by before you know it.excellent  playing in particular on electric guitar, and midi trumpet.more sly than virtuosic;;not jazz or rock, and i think it's impossible to tell what is improvised ad what is composed, including the backing tracks.and it's just fun to listen to.---
                                       Bob Gerosa (Gerosa Records)

This album is ahead of it's time--a relaxing celebration of beauty and soul,

Re- Richard Wise Music----
When you hear his music, the first thing that jumps out at you is the splashes of color!there is a diversity and variety that can keep you listening over and over, and always  hearing new things.the sound colors on his palette are limitless.a cornucopia of texture and musicianship on bass, percussion and midi-horn.to say he is a guitarist  is like saying that Mario Andretti has a driver's license,
